Michael Probstfeld, M.D., F.A.C.S

Dr. Probstfeld is a native of southern California. He attended Chapman College in Orange California, received a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and graduated Magna cum Laude. He attended medical school at the University of California at Irvine, and his internship and surgical residency were at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.

Dr. Probstfeld is certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is governor of the Arizona chapter of the American College of Surgeons and Chief of Surgery at Tucson Medical Center.

From 1990 through 1993, Dr. Probstfeld served as a Major in the United States Air Force at Loring Air Force Base in Maine as Chief of Surgery and was responsible for regional triage during the Desert Storm conflict. From 1993 until 1997, he was in private practice in north central Wisconsin and in 1998 he moved to Tucson to practice. Dr. Probstfeld is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Arizona. He has privileges at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tucson Medical Center and Tucson Heart Hospital.

His interests include colon and rectal biliary and laparoscopic surgery. He is involved in State-of-the-Art treatment for varicose vein problems with minimally invasive Endovenous Laser Therapy, microphlebectomy and sclerotherapy.
