Loussararian
Arthur Loussararian M.D., F.A.C.C.

Dr. Loussararian received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles. He attended UCLA Medical School, graduating in 1991. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in cardiology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He completed an additional year of training in Interventional Cardiology at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles. During his medical training, Dr. Loussararian also studied at the Centro Cuore Columbus cardiology research laboratory in Milan, Italy. He has participated in volunteer community activities in Los Angeles county, serving as attending cardiologist at the Venice Family Clinic. Dr. Loussararian joined Mission Internal Medical Group in 1998. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Loussararian is Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology, and has a special area of interest in endovascular therapy for peripheral vascular disease and Carotid artery disease, as well as percutaneous therapy for patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defect.


Kawanishi
David Kawanishi, M.D., F.A.C.C

Dr. Kawanishi is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago in 1972 and his M.D. degree from Yale University in 1976. He completed medical residency and was Chief Resident in Medicine at LAC +USC Medical Center, Los Angeles. He completed a cardiology fellowship with Dr. Rahimtoola at the University of Southern California of Medicine in 1980. He remained on the faculty in the Division of Cardiology as Associate Professor of Medicine and was director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at the LAC+USC Medical Center and the USC University Hospital, the USC Pacemaker Center, and the George C. Griffith research Laboratory until leaving to enter private practice with the Mission Internal Medical Group in May, 1997. He continues to be involved in clinical research trials and has been Chairman of the Mission Hospital Institutional Review Board since 2001.

Dr. Kawanishi is Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and in the subspecialties of Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology. He has passed the Heart Rhythm Society examination in heart rhythm device management and is certified in endovascular laser therapy of varicose veins and in sclerotherapy. Dr. Kawanishi is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.

Dr. Kawanishi has publications and continues to have special interest in the management of coronary artery disease, hypertension, valvular heart disease, and implantation as well as laser-assisted removal of pacemaker defibrillator systems. He also has been involved in the development of the vascular imaging laboratory ant the Vein Center at Mission Internal Medical Group.
